2025 Spring SLO Youth Futsal League

Come join us for the SLO County YMCA’s Futsal (Indoor Soccer) League! Our partnership with the City of San Luis Obispo Parks and Recreation Department allows us to offer a soccer program that helps kids to grow physically and socially in a fun and safe environment. *Please note: If there is low registration for any of the divisions, the division will then be made Co-ed.

Coaching Information

We need volunteer coaches! No experience is required in order to coach. If you are interested in coaching, please email [email protected] or call 805-543-8235. Coaches are able to pick their practice day and time for their team. You can sign up to be a head or assistant coach. If we do not have enough head coaches, we will pair multiple assistant coaches together to share coaching responsibilities.

A mandatory coaches meeting will be held in the Community Room at the SLO Public Library on Wednesday, March 12^th at 5:00pm.

Team Formation

Our primary goal is to form teams that are evenly matched and fair. In an attempt to balance teams correctly, we cannot guarantee that requests for your child to be with specific coaches, or requests for children to be placed on same teams as other children will be fulfilled. Only coach’s and assistant coach’s own children are guaranteed to be on same team. Random team assignment, coupled with player ratings, is the only way to ensure balanced teams. Reasons such as babysitters, carpool needs, practice days or location, coach likes or dislikes, and various other reasons are insufficient to support team assignment. We will consider one request per child and will do our best to fulfill that request, but if the request interferes with the ability to form fair teams, then we will not be able to accommodate the request.

League Timeline

Participants can expect to hear from their coach and be notified of their team assignment and practice schedule starting the week of March 17^th. Please be aware that some coaches might not reach out right away, so a slight delay in hearing from a coach might be expected. We cannot guarantee your child will be moved to another team if your assigned practice time does not work. Ability to attend practice will not affect your child’s playing time.

All practices will begin the week of March 31^st, 2025, as long as there is a coach for your team and contingent on the coach’s volunteer clearance status. Practices are one day per week on Monday-Thursday and will be held at various local schools.

All games are on Fridays and will begin on Friday, April 11th, 2025. The last game will occur on Friday, May 30^th, 2025.

Mar. 9^th: Registration closes (*Please note: If a division fills up and reaches its capacity, the division will be waitlisted even if the registration window is still open. Do not wait to sign up if you want to ensure your spot on a team!)

Mar. 10^th: Team Formation

Mar. 12^th: Coaches Meeting at SLO Public Library Community Room @5:00pm

Mar. 31^st: First week of practices

Apr. 11^th: First game

May 30^th: Last Game
