Come take part in our 4v4 Adult Basketball League! This 8-week coed league includes one game per week and one week of division playoffs. Teams will be registered by their captains. Teams can have a max of 10 players. Games will be held on Tuesdays.

All ability levels are welcome and encouraged to participate!

Improve your game with Pickleball Lessons!

You will be working with a Pickleball Coach in a small group of players within a similar skill range. Be prepared to work on specific skills through drilling and feedback, but rest assured there will be plenty of gameplay!

Beginner lessons are intended for students who are still very new to Pickleball. However, it is highly recommended that players participate in our Intro to Pickleball Clinic or have some other exposure to the sport prior to taking Group Lessons. If each player already has a basic understanding of scoring/rules, it will allow us to make the most of everyone’s time!

New to pickleball, but coming from a background in other sports? A good way to gauge your level is to take our Intro to Pickleball clinic to learn what’s different about Pickleball. You may be ready to jump right into intermediate lessons depending on how you do in the Intro clinic.

Welcome to Pickleball at the Ventura Y!

This “Intro To Pickleball” class is intended for those who are curious about this very fun and very popular sport, but may have never played before. Our goal is to prepare you to jump into Beginner or Intermediate Open Play Pickleball sessions, and hopefully inspire you to grow a love of the sport.  All ages are welcome!

We will cover the following:

• Scoring and Rules
• Etiquette and Sportsmanship
• How Open Play Pickleball works at the Ventura Y
• Basics of Technique and Strategy

This class will consist of discussion, demonstrations, and practice time dedicated to drills and scrimmages on the court!

Get ready to Dink, Volley, and Smash at our 3rd YMCA Holiday Pickleball Classic. This will be a day of fun-filled, friendly competition, and a chance to meet other Pickleball players at your ability level. – Intermediate/Advance Group.

When you sign up, plan to play roughly 6-9 games (this will likely be about a total of 2 – 2.5 hours of pickleball when all is said and done).

Each person will register as an individual, but all games will be doubles (could be men’s/women’s/mixed).

People signing up for the Intermediate/Advanced Category should meet this description: This category is specifically for folks that have been playing pickleball for a while. You know the rules and how to keep score, you can consistently serve the ball in and return the ball in. You have a good understanding of utilizing the “Kitchen” and know and use a 3rd shot drop into the kitchen. You are improving on your skill level and look forward to playing a bit tougher competition. This person maybe has been playing for more than 6 months to a year, has attended multiple clinics, has a strong athletic background, etc. For folks that understand the rating system, this player would be a 2.7 – 3.5+ level player.
