Youth & Government
Youth & Government is a model legislature and court program for high school students that offers insight into government processes and knowledge to solve community problems by utilizing democratic processes. By stepping into roles of judges, lawyers, or Youth Governors, participants research, write, and debate to pass their own bills in an attempt to resolve real issues.
The program includes trips to Camp Roberts and Sacramento, collaborating with over 1,800 students across the state to experience the legislative world and meet California senators, assembly members, and judges.

The Delegates will meet Thursdays at 6:00pm at the Stuart C. Gildred Family YMCA
Includes:
Camp Roberts Training: October 30th – November 2nd
(check-in will be Friday night / check-out Monday
late afternoon / Includes: 3 nights, 8 meals)
Sacramento MLC Program: February 12 – February 15
(check-in will be Fri. / check-out Mon. late morning /
Includes: 3 nights, Fri. & Sun. dinners)

Participants build confidence, leadership skills, and a deeper understanding of civic responsibility while collaborating with peers from across California.
Eligibility
This program is open to students currently enrolled in grades 9-12 (high school students only).
