This program is for K-1st Graders

We are devoted to promoting the merits of chess among children by using stories, dances and catchy songs to make the game of chess exciting and easy to understand. Children participating in our program develop critical thinking and problem solving skills, have better concentration and mental discipline, gain confidence and have lots of FUN! All students in chess club receive an exclusive Academic Chess workbook, prizes for good sportsmanship and participate in the “BIG TOURNAMENT” on the last day where all kids take home a prize!

Class Dates: Tuesdays, 2:30pm-3:15pm, 4/9 – 5/28

This program is for 2nd-6th Graders

Partnering with the Children Resource Creative Project students will have fun and learn how to think more creatively while exploring the world of art. Through various mediums and techniques students will build and strengthen foundational art skills. This class will be taught by Tracy Stum. Tracy Stum is an  American Artist best known for her 3D Street Paintings or chalk drawings making use of anamorphosis. In 2006, she held Guinness World Record for the Largest Chalk Painting by an individual.

Class Dates: Thursdays, 2:30pm-3:15pm, 4/11 – 5/30

In Drama/ Musical Theater at the Y, it is our goal for every child to find joy expressing themselves and honing their skills in performing arts. In this beginner level program, all participants will have the opportunity to shine!

Creative improv exercises, acting practice, vocal drills, and theater dance choreography are all incorporated into this exciting program.

By the end of the session, a small production will be performed by the students. Active attendance is mandatory throughout the session to ensure that children fulfil their given role.

This INCLUSIVE cooking class is a great introduction to home cooking techniques. Run by former Cold Steel Chef, Linda Crockett, we will learn knife skills, food safety, kitchen safety, etiquette, and how to cook different types of meals, including side dishes.

This class is designed for both special needs kids and neurotypical kids.

Parent participation is required.

Each session, there will be a brand new menu of items by season– enjoy new recipes and learn new skills with us if you are a returner to the class!

In our children’s yoga classes, kids will learn at a young age how to connect mind and body to stay healthy in all aspects of life, and have fun while doing it!

Our certified children’s yoga teacher will guide students through an age appropriate yoga class each week.

*Note: Active Parent Participation is required for this class

This program is for K-1st Graders 

Each week students will learn the fundamentals of soccer. They will practice dribbling, shooting, passing and defensive skills. Kids will learn these skills by playing games, doing drills, and scrimmages with their peers.
