Family Events
The Y offers a multitude of family events so families can share an experience and strengthen their bonds to each other. Our events help each family member develop and discover new skills or interests, connect to their community in meaningful and positive ways, or improve their health and well-being through fun and engaging activities.
Fun events like our Floating Pumpkin Patch or Visiting with Santa are some of our holiday themed events.
Candy Cane Dive 2025
Come jump in at the Stuart C. Gildred Family YMCA and meet Santa! Dive for candy canes (don’t worry they’re toys), and receive a tiny treat after your swim.
When: Saturday, December 13th // Time: 10:00 AM – 10:50 AM
Non-members: $5 per person entering pool // Members: FREE
Important Notes: All children 11 and under must be accompanied by an adult. All non-swimmer children 8 years and younger must be within arm’s reach of a parent or guardian. Coast Guard Approved Personal Flotation Devices (life jackets) are available.

Floating Pumpkin Patch
Come make a splash at the Santa Barbara Family YMCA Pool as we put a twist on a traditional holiday experience!
Each registration includes: One pumpkin of choice to take home & 2 people in water access to the 2 hour event.
All children under the age of 12 and non-swimmers MUST be accompanied by an adult in the water.
A photo area will also be available on the pool deck to capture the festive fun.
Come ready to swim and experience this truly unique event with your friends and family! We can’t wait to see you at our Floating Pumpkin Patch on 10/25/24 from 4pm-6pm.

Pumpkin Plunge 2025
Come jump in at the Stuart C. Gildred Family YMCA and pick out a pumpkin to take home. Everyone is welcome!
When: Saturday, October 11th // Time: 10:00 AM – 10:50 AM

This event includes the opportunity to jump in the pool and 50 minutes of open swim. Plus, pick a pumpkin to take home!

Trunk or Treat
Come join us for second annual Trunk or Treat event.
Help us spread the Halloween fun by hosting a spooktacular trunk.
No cost to participate, and a prize will be awarded to the best decorated trunk of the evening.
Join us from 5:30pm-7:30pm
We kindly request that trunk hosts give out healthy snacks or small toys (bubbles, pencils, stickers) in lieu of candy.
