Family Events
The Y offers a multitude of family events so families can share an experience and strengthen their bonds to each other. Our events help each family member develop and discover new skills or interests, connect to their community in meaningful and positive ways, or improve their health and well-being through fun and engaging activities.
Fun events like our Floating Pumpkin Patch or Visiting with Santa are some of our holiday themed events.
Candy Cane Dive 2026
Come jump in at the Stuart C. Gildred Family YMCA and meet Santa! Dive for candy canes (don’t worry they’re toys), and receive a tiny treat after your swim.
When: Saturday, December 12th // Time: 10:00 AM – 10:50 AM
Non-members: FREE // Members: FREE
Important Notes: All children 11 and under must be accompanied by an adult. All non-swimmer children 8 years and younger must be within arm’s reach of a parent or guardian. Coast Guard Approved Personal Flotation Devices (life jackets) are available.

Laps that Matter
Make a splash for a great cause! Join us for Laps That Matter, a fun community swim-a-thon where every lap supports the YMCA’s Annual Campaign and the programs that help strengthen our community.
Swim as many or as few laps as you’d like, challenge friends and family, and enjoy a free post-swim treat and certificate of achievement just for participating! Pledges from family and friends are encouraged to be contributed per lap. The most important thing is jumping in (feet first) and having fun.
Every lap counts. Every swimmer matters. Every splash makes a difference. 🌊

Pumpkin Plunge 2026
Come jump in at the Stuart C. Gildred Family YMCA and pick out a pumpkin to take home. Everyone is welcome!
When: Saturday, October 10th // Time: 10:00 AM – 10:50 AM
This event includes the opportunity to jump in the pool and 50 minutes of open swim. Plus, pick a pumpkin to take home!
