Preschool Age Swim Lessons (Ages 3-5)
Swimming is a life skill as well as great exercise and a challenging sport. The Y offers swim lessons for all ages so we can all safely enjoy the pleasures of an aquatic environment. Preschool Age Swim Lessons teaches kids ages 3-5 water adjustment, basic swimming competency, and benchmark skills. Preschool students can progress through four stages of classes:

It’s common for swimmers to repeat a stage multiple times before advancing. Growth in swimming depends not only on skill development, but also confidence in the water and physical abilities. Repeating a stage isn’t a setback—it’s a key part of building a strong foundation for lifelong swimming success.
Before moving your child to a new stage, please check in with their instructor. Our instructors are always ready provide helpful insight into your child’s progress and assess readiness for the next stage. Please note that any level changes once a session begins are subject to class and space availability.
