Swim Starters Swim Lessons (Ages 6 Months - 3 Years)
The Y is a leader in swim lessons and water safety. Our Swim Starters program helps children become comfortable in and around the water as well as teach parents about water safety. The Swim starters program is for children six months to 3 years old. Parents accompany their children in the pool throughout the program. Swim Starters is a two-stage program. Children with more advanced skills can test into Stage B and bypass stage A.

It’s common for swimmers to repeat a stage multiple times before advancing. Growth in swimming depends not only on skill development, but also confidence in the water and physical abilities. Repeating a stage isn’t a setback—it’s a key part of building a strong foundation for lifelong swimming success.
Before moving your child to a new stage, please check in with their instructor. Our instructors are always ready provide helpful insight into your child’s progress and assess readiness for the next stage. Please note that any level changes once a session begins are subject to class and space availability.
