Martial arts are a great way to develop balance, coordination, speed and strength, while building self-confidence and discipline in an encouraging, non-intimidating environment. Our classes focus on fitness and conditioning as well as teaching the movements and stances of each martial arts discipline.

Self Defense Classes at the YMCA will teach individuals how to identify threats, avoid danger, and protect/defend themselves in a variety of scenarios. Learn beginner level through advanced techniques from experienced martial artists who will meet you at your own pace. Hands-on partner training is incorporated each week to give you the opportunity to practice the skills taught in class. Join us to learn how to keep yourself safe!

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) at the Y includes elements of various martial arts such as Karate, Tae Kwon Do, MuayThai, and Jiu Jiu Jitsu, with the added fun of Kickboxing techniques. This program is perfect for ALL levels of experience to build strength, balance, and character. This class is a no-contact MMA class, where safety is a priority.
